The USBC-7400H4 accepts up to 100W of USB-C Power Delivery input through its PD pass-through USB-C port. The adapter reserves up to 10W for its own operation, leaving up to 90W for a compatible connected host computer.

How Does Power Pass-Through Work?

Connect a compatible USB-C Power Delivery charger to the PD input port on the USBC-7400H4. The adapter uses a portion of the incoming power for its own operation and passes the remaining available power to the connected computer.

  • With a 100W USB-C charger, the adapter can provide up to 90W to the connected host.
  • With a lower-wattage charger, less power will be available to charge the host because the adapter still requires power for its own operation.
  • With a charger rated above 100W, the USBC-7400H4 is still limited to a maximum of 100W input and up to 90W output to the host.

The actual charging rate also depends on how much power the connected computer supports and requests through USB Power Delivery.

Does the USBC-7400H4 Require a Power Adapter?

No. The USBC-7400H4 can operate on power from the connected host computer when pass-through charging isn't needed.

To charge the host through the USBC-7400H4, connect a compatible USB-C Power Delivery charger to the adapter's PD input port.
