The USBC-PDMON requires approximately 15W of power to operate. Many smartphones and tablets are limited in the amount of power they can provide, which prevents the monitor from turning on when connected directly. Providing supplemental power to the monitor with an external charger will resolve this issue.
Why the USBC-PDMON May Not Turn On With Mobile Devices
Devices like smartphones and tablets often have low power output from their USB-C ports. If the connected host device cannot supply the required 15W to use the USBC-PDMON in bus-power mode, the display will not function without an external power source.
How to Provide Supplemental Power to the USBC-PDMON
- Locate the Power Delivery pass-through USB-C port on the right side of the USBC-PDMON, which is identified by a plug icon.
- Connect a USB-C power supply, such as a laptop or phone charger, directly to this port.
- Ensure the USB-C power supply can deliver at least 15W to meet the monitor's power requirements.
