The USBC-PDMON supports USB Power Delivery, which allows the display to either receive power from an external power source (such as a USB Type-C charger) or receive power from the host device. In other words, the display can accept power from both ‘directions’.
When a USB-C power supply is disconnected from the PD Pass-Through port, the monitor momentarily loses power while switching to draw power directly from the host system. This brief power interruption causes connected USB devices and video output to briefly reset or cut out.
Why the Disconnection Causes Video and USB Interruptions
When the external power adapter is unplugged, the display unit undergoes a momentary power loss before reverting to host power, causing all active video and USB data streams to temporarily disconnect. We recommend that you ‘eject’ any USB devices connected to the display’s ‘downstream’ USB ports prior to changing the power source of the display.
